Mobile Internet: Convenient Mix Of Entertainment And Telecommunications

Mobile Internet is a growing and spreading opportunities for users to get perfect mix of entertainment, gaming and communication on the go.

Mobile Internet: Convenient Mix Of Entertainment And Telecommunications

Mobile internet is beginning to replace a traditional Comcast cable connection or other landline service. This is because some people believe in getting all the communication tools they need on their portable device without the need for a fixed connection. Let us take a look at the different types of things that you can expect to do using mobile internet.

From a productive point of view, you can do as much with a mobile internet connection as you could with a Comcast cable service or BSNL broadband connection. This is thanks to the increased download and upload speeds that have become available via 3G and now 4G networking.

3G services are available in the largest number of places, but 4G coverage is on the increase and offers greatly improved speeds over previous networking standards. You can download at a theoretical maximum of 105Mbps and whilst real world speeds will be much slower, a 4G enabled device will still get you online at a rate that matches fixed line broadband blow for blow.

With a high-speed mobile internet connection, you can send emails, send invoices, get paid, upload files, download documents and get on with the working day, no matter where you are. You will no longer need to stay rooted to the spot at your place of work, to stay on top of your tasks. Instead, you can get out and about with your smartphone, tablet or laptop and browse the web, collaborate on projects and engage with clients, irrespective of your relative position.

With mobile internet, there are also many ways to get in touch with co-workers and customers. You can, of course, use traditional voice calls from your mobile handset, but with improved speeds of 3G and 4G networks, you can also make VoIP calls that won’t leave you with a costly bill at the end of the month. Video calling is also increasingly popular but only possible if you have the hardware that can support it. There is often nothing better than a face-to-face meeting, even if it is taking place between two people who are thousands of miles apart, thanks to mobile internet.

On the entertainment side of the matter, things get particularly exciting. With a high-speed, unlimited mobile connection, you can download the latest applications, games and music in a matter of seconds. You can also stream high-definition video and watch full movies whilst you are on the go. Because content can be pulled straight from the web without having to be stored on your phone, it is not necessary to have lots of onboard storage space. So, you will not cram your handset with media files every time you have a long journey or a boring commute to endure.

There are several ways to get mobile internet. Most modern smartphones have 3G or 4G networking capabilities built-in as standard, whilst some tablets and even laptops, can also feature this connectivity option. Alternatively, you can get a USB modem that will be compatible with your computer and allow you to get online in no time. The most advanced mobiles will allow you to tether them to your PC so that you can share a mobile internet connection without having to invest in yet another device to carry around with you.

The entertainment and telecommunications possibilities that are opened up by mobile internet are impossible to ignore. Perhaps, the best part of the industry is that it is becoming increasingly affordable to get connected and speeds are increasing across the country.

HighSpeed 5 pts

Until everyone has national coverage of Wi-Fi all over the world, we have wireless internet to look forward to. With speeds anticipated to triple in the coming years, it should be interesting to see if home users replace their cable internet with wireless internet.

HighSpeed I ran a comparison of Verizon's 4G LTE connection against a Time Warner Interent package (using the basic 10Mb package) and there wasn't a huge difference in speeds, the fixed connection was clockling around 6-7Mbs and the 4G connection around 5Mbs which is pretty impressive.

RichPatters There's a prime example. I've done the same thing with my att 3g and get download speeds pretty close to many wifi hotspot speeds. I'd probably drop my home internet altogether and just tether my phone it wasn't for my gaming habit :)

HighSpeedRichPatters The area I was staying at had good 4G coverage, it will be interesting to see if 4G really does have a negative impact fixed line internet provider's sales when good 4G coverage is more widespread. I wouldn't consider dropping a fixed line connection right yet as the download caps are too low with mobile internet but if this changes I'd seriously consider it.
