eContacts: A Complete, Free Alternative Contacts App for iPhone & iPad

Apple doesn’t build everything in default apps and leave APIs for developers to play with; so that, app developers can take advantage of it for creating stunning apps. Well, its understandable in case of paid apps but the one I am talking about now is FREE.

Update December 25, 2013:  This app now also has paid version too & offers more features. See links below.

eContacts app is developed by Korean developer HEE KYONG BAE. It is available in both English and Korean language. (I am surprised to see nice Korean involvement here.)

Though this app doesn’t have great looking UI, its features are worth replacing default contacts app – that too… for FREE.

What is eContacts App

eContacts provides a simple interface to create and manage groups of your contacts for your address-book. eContacts is a most powerful contact address-book application. Easily create and manage groups of contacts.

Above info doesn’t really tell the complete story. Basically, eContacts can be seen as complete alternative app to default Contacts.app we have on iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. It can do many actions like, creating different groups (friends, family, colleagues etc), send group SMS or email, share contact information using SMS. Yes, we saw one for jailbroken phones recently but this one does not need a jailbreak. Its available on iTunes AppStore for FREE. Cool, isn’t it?

Don’t miss the demo video.

Note

As I said, eContacts may not be the best looking compared to other apps on iPhone or iPad, but it definitely deserves a BIG APPLAUSE for the developer.
