This list matters just as much. The screens are the same 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch panels as last year. The 4x telephoto and the ultra wide camera are the same. The aluminium unibody design is the same, apart from new colours (black, silver, glacier and burgundy). Storage still starts at 256GB.
The phones also got heavier. The 18 Pro weighs 211g against the 17 Pro’s 206g, and the 18 Pro Max jumps from 233g to 249g. That extra weight is mostly the bigger battery, and you will notice it on the Pro Max.
Upgrading From an iPhone 17 Pro? Skip It
This is the easiest call. Reviewers almost unanimously called the 18 Pro a refinement year, and the numbers back that up. In one long battery test, the 18 Pro Max lasted 18 hours 27 minutes against the 17 Pro Max’s 17 hours 54 minutes. That’s about half an hour more for a phone that costs more and weighs more.

My take: if your 16 Pro’s battery health has dropped and you’re hunting for a charger by evening, or you shoot a lot of zoomed photos, the 18 Pro is a clear step up. If your phone still gets you through the day, an official battery replacement costs a small fraction of a ₹1,64,900 upgrade and fixes the thing that actually bothers you.
Upgrading From an iPhone 15 Pro? Yes, This Is the Year
Three years is the sweet spot for Pro iPhone upgrades, and the 18 Pro lands right on it. You go from 23 hours of rated video playback to 36. Charging to 50% drops from about 30 minutes to about 15. You get Camera Control, a 48MP ultra wide, the 4x/8x telephoto, a much better front camera and 12GB of RAM.
One thing you don’t need to upgrade for: Siri AI. The new Siri in iOS 27 runs on the iPhone 15 Pro, so that alone isn’t a reason to buy.
