Here comes the latest entrant in to the tablet war we are witnessing since last few months. And this time, the entry is coming from EAFT, India – they just launched a newly designed 10.1 inch Android tablet – MagicTile Marathon – captioned as “India’s finest homegrown tablet”.
EAFT Technologies India Pvt Ltd (Everything At Finger Tips), a product engineering company from Bangalore is creating products in Education & Entertainment sector. Their products are based on mobile chip-sets manufactured by nVIDIA and Freescale.
The company name is quite different and I never heard about it before. They also say that their product is 100% magic and 101% tablet – which possibly would mean that, the tablet is very special, it offers 200% more than what other tablets do & its ridiculously fast.
EAFT’s MagicTile Marathon tablet will compete with iPad 2, HTC Flyer, Motorola Xoom, BlackBerry Playbook and Samsung Galaxy S tab.

I think the price band for this tablet should be somewhere between Rs. 18,000 to 20,000 if they really want to get hold in the market. Otherwise, I would rather spend 5-7k more to get a popular brand like HTC or Samsung that offers more different features.
I might have said few non-positive points above but it needs a lot of courage, confidence and talent to create a touch tablet and launching it in the market to compete with other giants. Especially when company like BlackBerry is struggling to sell their tablets.
I really appreciate EAFT’s efforts here and companies like them will make India shine.
I would definitely recommend this tablet only if they reduce the price or give features that others do. 🙂
