Official Factory Unlocked iPhone 5 Price & Availability

Apple released ‘biggest’ iPhone yet on September 12 and the pre-orders for iPhone 5 just started to buy it under a contract from official carriers. iPhone 5 will be shipped with iOS 6 which will have these 200+ features.

The biggest question is – Why is factory unlocked iPhone 5 not available yet on Apple Store? and how much is its price? The answer is – we might have to wait for another 2-3 weeks before (or may be less) to see Apple selling factory unlocked iPhone 5 online.

I really kinda don’t like this policy where they hold buyers to wait for unnecessary reasons. Wonder, why pre-ordering an unlocked iPhone is not possible right away! It’s about time that Apple rethink about it! Isn’t it?

Apple might put up similar price tag on iPhone 5, which they did for unlocked iPhone 4S.

Factory Unlocked iPhone 5 will only be available to buy online from & within United States. All other countries including India will have to wait a lot longer to get it.

Many readers are asking me, how can they get unlocked iPhone 5 in India? As I said, it’s not going to be quick & easy. Once, Apple decides to sell it online – you will have to request your friends from United States to buy it for you & send it to you through a common friend or a relative.

Update: iPhone 5 Price & Availability in India

iPhone 5 is expected to launch in India on October 26, 2012 & the price would be approx. Rs. 50,000. Vodafone,  Aircel and Airtel have reportedly placed orders for Nano-SIM cards for iPhone 5. I am expecting iPhone 5 sold in India to be a factory unlocked handset however, if you’re not going to buy it as part of a bundle from your carrier, you might have to pay extra money upfront to waive-off the talk-time offer.

Update: Factory Unlocked iPhone 5 now available in US Apple Store

Well, the wait is now over. Apple Store is now all ready for this year’s holiday season & for that, they have made available the most-awaited factory unlocked version of iPhone 5. Prices are same as I mentioned earlier in table above.
