Samsung Electronics UK has recently announced a sponsorship for ‘ticketless’ technology to be used first time for Red Hot Chilli Peppers live music event on June 23, 2102 as reported by The Drum.
Samsung will be providing RFID (Radio Frequency ID) technology to the live event festivals. Audience will receive an interactive RFID wristband which is read to validate the entry on arrival & this allows almost no queues at the venue.
Not just that, these interactive hi-tech wristbands allow event goers to link their social media profiles & associate the same RFID with other contests or special offers happening around in that event.
This new RFID technology can also work with NFC in which eventually will allow people to use mobile phones as a Ticket. Of course, this isn’t just limited to wallet apps – its more than that, and when they mean ticketless – its about not using conventional paper-prints.
Interactive wristbands can be personalized and used to check-in on Facebook, Foursquare, share experience online and lot many things can be done and It has just started.
Use of such technology is highly anticipated and I am sure many other live events around the world would like to use it.
Sounds great, isn’t it?
