XOLO today launched its new tablet ‘XOLO Play Tegra Note’, powered with NVIDIA Tegra  4 processor & Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2, – claiming to be the world’s fastest tablet ever. I can’t wait it to reach here for review because; the hardware specification on paper looks very good.

The price of INR 17,999/- for this tablet looks good considering it ships with the NVIDIA DirectStylus™ technology. However, it now competes with Amazon Kindle HDX tablets which have similar specs minus the stylus. So if someone is not keen on getting stylus may consider Kindle HDX (not launched in India yet) or Nexus 7 2013 Edition, considering the brands.

Having said that, I will certainly take a look XOLO Play Tegra Note, before I decide to buy one (Yes, the name is difficult to keep up with). The design of this tablet looks stunning & the tablet is powered with 72-core NVIDIA GeForce® GPU, 1.8 GHz Quad core Cortex A15 (with a battery saver core) processor & NVIDIA PureAudio™ — Surround Sound like audio on front-facing stereo speakers with Bass Boost.

There are certain specs which I think are not with the current standard for tablet hardware such as; it doesn’t have USB 3.0 which would have given a better throughput, the battery power seems on a lower side despite the fact that it uses a battery saver core in Tegra processor, display resolution seems on a lower side.

Though, 1GB RAM is also not a standard in latest offerings & 2GB should have been there, but, with one of the fastest processors & solid GPU – 1GB should suffice for this device to offer better performance. We’ll get it here soon & will share the ‘XOLO Play Tegra Note’ un-boxing, hands-on video review on our YouTube Channel.
