Twitter New Feature: Email Alert for @ Mentions, Retweet and Favorites

It took me by surprise today morning with couple of emails from Twitter. Yes. What was it?

It required an additional click to find @mentions for Twitter account and was difficult to track it on timeline if I am following lots of people with plenty of tweets.

From today, Twitter seemed to activate email alerts for @mentions, Retweets, Favorites making it more useful & quicker social networking website. The problem with @mentions was the ability to respond back quickly for not being able to get visual notification. We had to be on Twitter all the time to track timely @mentions.

Twitter has @mentions feature for smartphone app via Push Notifications.

But now, we don’t need to worry about it. We should get an email alert for @mention and we can reply back quickly if needed.

Twitter has introduced email notifications for

• Receive a reply or mentioned
• Tweets marked as favorites
• Tweets are retweeted

Activate or Deactivate email notifications

Go to Twitter settings page to check or uncheck options. Of course, one must check emails often to know about it
