There are many brands launching new cell phones back to back, but not all deserve a big applause such as Galaxy S3, Note-II or iPhone 5. Among such handsets launched recently is BlackBerry Z10 that was announced recently. The OS used on it is BB OS 10, which is also popularly known as BBX or BlackBerry 10. The specialty of this mobile operating system is, it’s astonishing Android and iOS applications.

Today is a time for showing-off some amazing touchscreen phones to attract the buyers and its good to see RIM taking these things seriously.
As per the RIM Statement
BlackBerry Z10 has all the required features that a youth and a professional user expect in a smartphone. The phone is encumbered with BB OS 10 which is just tremendous to operate because of its incredible speed. It is the operating system which made RIM to compete with other brands in market.
BB Z10 release date in INDIA is expected to be in February or March 2013. The company want to launch this phone to be the first with BB OS 10 and will be available in two colors, Black and White.
The performance of Z10 is blazing fast enough and can easily be compared next to any high-end Android phone or an iPhone. BB Z10 is the fastest mobile device when compared the company’s older phones.
What’s not good in BB Z10?
All said and done – the phone still lacks in some departments. The camera light is just wretched, thus making the photographs filled with noise and distortion. The night mode of the camera is a pure useless.
The phone has tons of basic apps loaded built-in but if you are the one who loves to download and install multiple apps such as from Play Store or iOS, then BlackBerry Z10 might disappoint you big time. The App Store doesn’t offer so much of the variety of apps, but the company is working hard on getting things right by involving as many app developers around the world – but that might take some time.
What’s good in Z10?
The virtual keyword in handset is unbelievable; it’s very fast and precise featuring contextual auto-correction, next-word prediction, and a personalized learning engine. It separates the words by itself.
Suppose you type “somthinglikethis” then it will automatically converts it to “something like this”.
Build, look and design
The BlackBerry Z10 looks somewhat like iPhone 5 with a tall display and a sleek design. The built is slim and very handy to operate. Even though the overall size is 5 inches – you still feel in control of the phone with good grip on the back plate.
The most surprising design factor of Z10 is that – it does not have any hardware navigation buttons or any navigation keys in software. The entire phone operation is designed for a gesture-based operations.
Display and Camera
The 4.2 inch display has WXGA 1280 x 768 pixel HD resolution with a 356 of pixel density for a much-sharper visuals. There’s nothing special in the display itself and the quality isn’t as impressive as Samsung Galaxy S3 or Note-2 but still is slightly better compared to other phones
Talking about photography capabilities, the Z10 comes with 2MP of front facing camera – capable of recording 720p HD video and 8MP rear camera, capable of recording 1080p HD video with image and video stabilization.
Processor, RAM and Multimedia
The BB Z10 is powered with a 1.5GHz dual-core QUALCOMM Snapdragon processor paired with massive 2GB RAM. The phone surely is a powerful performer and there’s definitely no doubt in this regard.
This hardware configuration gives a bit more advantage to BlackBerry itself once they manage to bring all the cool apps and games on the device as Z10 is powered with Adreno 225 GPU (Graphic Processing Unit), a similar unit used o Nokia Lumia 920.
It does have Micro USB 2.0 port, micro HDMI port and 3.5mm audio jack. Apart from this, it has all features usually found in powerful smartphones like Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, sensors, GPRS, GPS.
The phone supports almost all audio formats and video formats to playback the device and this is one of the key element I think to wipe-off BlackBerry’s identity as monotonous business phone.
Storage and Operating system
The Z10 has decent inbuilt 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 64 GB through SD card. Overall, you can have 80GB of massive storage – again is pretty good for a smartphone and awesome for any BlackBerry to store media files.
Talking about the operating system, Z10 is powered with latest innovative BlackBerry 10 Operating system. Here is a demo video showing BlackBerry 10 OS in action..
BlackBerry Z10 Price
BlackBerry Z10 with BB10 price in India is tagged at Rs. 43, 490. That’s definitely on a higher side & directly competes with the iPhone 5 price in India. I would have liked the price to be around Rs. 35,000 considering BB fan following. The booking for BlackBerry Z10 have already started with local stores.
BlackBerry 10 Videos
For a devoted BlackBerry hater like me – The Blackberry Z10 is a fairly a good phone and genuinely an excellent performer too. But, unless we use it for a very long period – we won’t be able to predict about its future. The latest Blackberry 10 OS has also added up to its positive contribution in overall rating.
Apart from an issue of getting used to their new gesture-based navigation and unavailability of sufficient applications to try – I am impressed and for the first time – I won’t mind getting a better BlackBerry phone the company has ever presented instead of rubbing my thumb a million times on an old-school track-pad.
What do you think about this New BlackBerry? We would like to know your thoughts.
